Jeffrey S. Jones, DNP, RN, PMHCNS-BC, LNC, is an ANCC board certified psychiatric clinical nurse specialist, psychotherapist, an ABA approved legal nurse consultant, and entrepreneur. He received an ADN from North Central Technical College in 1989, a BSN with a minor in psychology from The Ohio State University in 1993, a MSN in psychiatric nursing from The University of Akron in 1997, and a DNP from Case Western Reserve University in 2007. He also received a Legal Nurse Consulting Certificate from Capital University Law School in 2007. He most recently was visiting faculty at the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio.' He is well published in the area of psychiatric mental health nursing and nursing theory. He is a lead editor / author of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing; An Interpersonal Approach, 1st and 2nd second editions (Springer, 2011, 2017). He is also a contributing author to Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nursing: Integrating Psychotherapy, Psychopharmacology, and Complementary and Alternative Approaches'and Foundations of Clinical Nurse Specialist Practice. He is recipient of multiple awards, including the Mildred E. Newton Distinguished Educator Award from The Ohio State University (2021), AJN’s 2020 1st Place Book of The Year Award for Fast Facts for the Nurse Psychotherapist: the process of becoming, (2021), the Distinguished Alumni Award from The University of Akron, (2007), and the Contribution to Nursing Award from Case Western Reserve University, (2005). He is the past Chief Nursing Officer for The Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry. He has served on the Richland County Mental Health Board, The Ohio Board of Nursing - Standards and Practice Committee, and as a content expert on psychiatric nursing for the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).' He is past president and owner of Pinnacle Mental Health Associates, Inc., a private practice in Mansfield, Ohio, and the current owner of Jeffrey S. Jones, LLC, a psychiatric APRN contracting company. Dr. Jones has provided service to the mentally ill in hospital settings, outpatient clinics, prisons, and in private practice. Audrey M. Beauvais, DNP, MSN, MBA, RN, is an Associate Dean and Associate Professor at the Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies at Fairfield University.' She has been teaching undergraduate nursing students about psychiatric and mental health nursing for over 15 years. Dr. Beauvais completed her BSN degree from Fairfield University, MSN/MBA degrees from Sacred Heart University, and DNP degree from Case Western Reserve University.' Dr. Beauvais is an Editorial Board Member for the journal Nursing Education Perspectives.' She was a guest editor for Nursing Education Perspectives’ special issues on the Future of Nursing Report in the fall of 2017 and 2020.' Dr. Beauvais is the author of numerous journal articles and book chapters.' She recently published the book Leadership and Management Competencies in Nursing Practice: Competencies, Skills, Decision Making (2019) that was awarded first place for the American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year award in the Nurse Management and Leadership category. She has been the recipient of several honors and distinctions including the Connecticut Nurses Association Diamond Jubilee Josephine A. Dolan Award for Outstanding Contribution to Nursing Education, the Connecticut League for Nursing Ruth M. Olson Excellence in Nurse Education Award, and Sacred Heart University’s Dean’s Leadership Award.' Prior to her time in academia, Dr. Beauvais worked in various leadership positions at Stamford Hospital including nurse manager of the psychiatric and pediatric units, case manager, and performance improvement coordinator.' Dr. Beauvais was the Magnet Coordinator that successfully led Stamford Hospital to be recognized as a Magnet hospital. The Magnet Recognition ProgramTM is a prestigious designation administered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for excellence in nursing practice. Dr. Beauvais began her nursing career as a psychiatric and mental health nurse working at an independent, not-for-profit psychiatric hospital treating adults and adolescents in the inpatient as well as intensive outpatient setting.
