Dr. Robert F. Heary is the Director of the Montclair Spine Center located in Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, New Jersey. He is one of the premier physicians providing comprehensive spine care including a full range of conservative and surgical interventions for a wide range of spinal disorders. He is a Professor of Neurosurgery at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine in Nutley, New Jersey. Dr. Heary is on the editorial boards of Neurosurgery; Brain Disease Mechanisms-Frontiers in Molecular Neuroscience; Clinical Spine Surgery; Spinal Deformity; Neural Regeneration Research; World Neurosurgery; and the Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine. He was previously on the editorial board of the Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine for eight years serving as the chair of the Editorial Board in his final year. He is an active member of many scientific societies. Dr. Heary has served as a director-at-large and the Vice President of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS). He also served as the Chair of the AANS/CNS Joint Section on Disorders of the Spine & Peripheral Nerves, the President of the Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS), and the President of the Lumbar Spine Research Society. Dr. Heary has been widely recognized for his skill, knowledge, expertise, and leadership abilities with his appointment to the highest positions in neurosurgery and spine surgery over the past two decades.
