She works in the Department of Emergency Medicine at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, California. Karen “Sue” Hoyt, PhD, RN, FNP-BC, CEN, FAEN, FAANP, FAAN, is an emergency nurse practitioner (ENP) and works at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, California. She is currently a clinical professor for the NP/DNP Programs at the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science at the University of San Diego.
