This volume focuses on adult craniopharyngiomas, offering various perspectives. The first part of the book provides an up-to-date overview of the pathogenesis and management of adult craniopharyngiomas, helping readers understand the pathogenesis and molecular pathways. It highlights the importance of animal models for addressing molecular keys and for developing targeted therapies.

The second part deals with clinical management, detailing the latest results in the era of endoscopic surgery, including the major contribution of the extended nasal endoscopic approaches for suprasellar and retrochiasmatic tumors. The book also discusses the key aspects of these tumors and how to manage them. The last part of the book addresses the future therapies and recurrences after surgery and radiotherapy.

This volume is of interest to neurosurgeons, endocrinologists, paediatricians, radiologists and oncologists.

Professor Emmanuel Jouanneau is a Neurosurgeon at Lyon University Hospital' and Professor of Neurosurgery at Lyon 1 University, France. After studying medicine at the same university, he completed his fellowship in Neurosurgery, focusing on adult brains tumors, skull base and pituitary surgery. He was a visiting fellow under Professor E. Laws for pituitary surgery and under Professor P. Cappabianca for pituitary and endoscopic surgery. He obtained his PhD after a year spent in the Immunologic laboratory at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He now chairs the Skull Base and Pituitary Department at the Neurological Hospital of Lyon, the second- largest such center in France. He is the co-head of the Pituitary Center of Lyon with G Raverot. Professor Gerald Raverot is an endocrinologist at Lyon University Hospital and Professor of Endocrinology at Lyon1 University, France. He received his medical degree from The University of Medicine of Lyon, France and completed an endocrinology fellowship with a focus in pituitary disorders in France. He was then a visiting fellow in Larry Jameson's laboratory at Northwestern University (Chicago, USA), where he completed his PhD. He is joint head (with Pr Emmanuel Jouanneau, neurosurgeon) of the Pituitary Center, Lyon, France. He leads a research team dedicated to "Pathophysiology of pituitary tumor" at the INSERM Research Center U1052. His major research interests are pituitary tumor pathogenesis and identification of markers of aggressiveness allowing the identification of potential new therapies. He was the chair of the Special Interest Group on aggressive pituitary tumors, and he co-ordinated the European Society of Endocrinology guidelines on aggressive pituitary tumors and carcinoma.
