The book gives the criteria for making a diagnosis "within normal limits", for non-diagnostic wet-mount preparations, and for making diagnoses of mild-moderate-severe inflammation, trichomoniasis, candidiasis versus yeast, vaginal bacteriosis, de-squamative vaginitis and lactobacilli overgrowth. The final chapter covers evaluation of a patient with vulvovaginitis of infectious aetiology.
