Craniosynostosis and rare craniofacial clefts represent overlapping spectra of craniofacial disorders that present significant multi-system challenges in reconstructive surgery. Caused by the premature fusion of cranial bones, craniosynostosis may occur in isolation or as a part of a syndrome.
