This volume is primarily intended for colposcopists, therefore the bulk of it covers the colposcopic appearances of the cervix in health and disease, largely in the form of an atlas. However, the book also includes a discussion of the factors responsible for the causation of disease and its histogenesis, as well as the histological and cytological means of diagnosis which necessarily complement the colposcopic approach. The sections on histology and cytology are intended to be of use to histopathologists and cytologists working alongside colposcopists. In addition to the chapters on histology, cytology, colposcopic appearances of the cervix, vagina and vulva in health and primarily in disease, and also treatment, chapters are included that deal with policies of referral for colposcopy, setting up a colposcopy service and training considerations.
