Dr. Hans Hauner is the chief physician and director of the German Diabetes Research Institute and is a recognised expert on health issues related to diabetes and obesity. He is a member of the German Diabetes Society, Obesity Society and the Society for Nutrition. Friedrich Bohlmann is a nutritionist who has worked for years in his native Germany as a technical journalist for magazines and television broadcasters.
