The purpose of this book is twofold: The concise presentation in outline format enables the student initially to gain an overview of histology and later to review the discipline. This is particularly important in today's biomedical curriculum because of the reduction in time devoted to basic sciences and the dispersal of specific disciplinary materials into evolving, nontraditional curricula.
