The authors recognize that the conventional way of managing sleep disorders, anxiety, and depression may not be sustainable for many who continue to struggle with these problems. In their own practices they have discovered a path to optimal mental health by combining the best of Western and Eastern medicine.

“We have seen among our own patients how chronic stress can wear away at their well-being, often first by stealing their sleep, then dampening their mood, and finally disrupting their health.”

With this book you will:

Discover the strengths and benefits of both Western and Eastern medicine
Combine Western and Eastern healing methods for sleep disorders, anxiety, and depression
Use questions, worksheets, checklists, and practical advice to prepare for and begin new, healthy behaviors

To help you move forward on a new path, they provide practical advice and worksheets to start simple daily exercise routines, eat a plant-based diet, and begin qigong practice.

Born and trained in Canada, I graduated from the University of Toronto School of Medicine in 1990. I completed my internship and residency at the same institution and qualified as a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1995. My first position as an OB/Gyn was in Guam. There, I met and married my husband, Rob, who was serving in the Navy. Rob served two tours of duty in San Diego where my interest in Oriental Medicine was ignited while collaborating with Dr. Darcy Yent, naturopath and acupuncturist. In 2009, with Dr. Yent's encouragement, I certified as a Medical Acupuncturist through the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and the Helms Medical Institute. I enjoyed incorporating acupuncture into my practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology. I have since completed a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine at the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Honolulu. In 2015, I opened my clinic in Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii. Aihan Kuhn, C.M.D., is a Chinese medical doctor trained in both Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is a graduate of the Hunan Medical University, Changsha China. In China, Dr. Kuhn practiced OB/GYN in Chinese hospitals (1983-1988), studied Tai Chi and Chi Kung (since 1978) and returns each year to advance her training in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and martial arts. Dr. Kuhn is the director and owner of the Chinese Medicine for Health Clinic in Holliston Massachusetts. President and founder of the non-profit Tai Chi & Qigong Healing Institute which promotes natural energy healing and research for treating incurable diseases with Qigong. Dr. Kuhn treats patients with various methods of TCM and Qigong at her Massachusetts clinic, lectures to both healthcare professionals and the general public, and offers Qigong and Tai Chi classes at her Holliston school. Aihan Kuhn resides with her family in Sarasota, Florida.
