This book is designed for the practicing vitreoretinal surgeon intent on learning new techniques, perfecting old techniques, and gaining of mastery of both routine and complex surgical situations.

Dr. Darius M. Moshfeghi is Professor of Ophthalmology at Stanford University School of Medicine where he is the Director of the Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship Program, Director of Pediatric Vitreoretinal Surgery, as well as Director of  Ophthalmic Telemedicine. He is the Founder and Director of the Stanford University Network for Diagnosis of Retinopathy of Prematurity (SUNDROP), the oldest and largest telemedicine network for ROP in the United States. He currently leads the Newborn Eye Screen Testing (program) and Global Universal Eye Screen Testing (GUEST) programs at Stanford University, which seek to explore the benefits of universal eye screening of normal term infants. Charles C. Wykoff, MD, PhD, practices at Retina Consults of Houston. He is Director of Clinical Research at the Greater Houston Retina Research Foundation and serves as the elected Deputy Chair of Ophthalmology for the Blanton Eye Institute, Houston Methodist Hospital.  He received his PhD from Oxford University in England while on a Marshall Scholarship, and his MD from Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Wykoff completed his ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute; while there he was awarded a Heed Fellowship, the Ronald G. Michels Fellowship Award, and served as Chief Resident/Co-Director of Ocular Trauma.  Dr. Wykoff has extensive expertise in clinical trial design and translational research.  Dr. Wykoff has published over 70 peer reviewed scientific manuscripts and book chapters including co-authoring the book Fighting Global Blindness, and regularly presents at national and international symposia. Eric Nudleman, MD, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Shiley Eye Institute, Jacobs Retina Center, University of California San Diego. He received his undergraduate and doctoral training at Stanford University, followed by medical training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He has scientific expertise in developmental biology and clinical training as a vitreoretinal surgeon at the world-renowned Associated Retinal Consultants in Royal Oak, Michigan.  His interests are in pediatric vitreoretinal diseases and diseases of the retinal vasculature. Andrew A. Moshfeghi, MD, MBA is Associate Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Southern California (USC), Keck School of Medicine, in Los Angeles, California. He serves as Director of the Clinical Trials Unit at the USC Eye Institute. Previously, Dr. Moshfeghi served as Medical Director at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at Palm Beach Gardens and Bascom Palmer Surgery Center at the University of Miami.  Dr. Moshfeghi is an internationally recognized vitreoretinal surgeon and macular disease specialist who has published seminal papers on retinal pharmacotherapy and complications of intraocular pharmacotherapy.
