Ocular Blood Flow
Springer Berlin (Verlag)
978-3-662-50164-1 (ISBN)
Adequate blood supply to the eye is an important prerequisite for normal visual function. Over the past 40 years our knowledge of ocular blood flow regulation has improved significantly. This reader-friendly textbook provides a comprehensive overview of the current knowledge of ocular blood flow. Lavishly illustrated, it evaluates the wide array of methods that have been used to measure ocular blood flow. Furthermore, it not only offers the reader an evidence-based summary of the physiological and pharmacological properties of ocular blood flow regulation, but also demonstrates the ocular blood flow abnormalities in different vascular diseases. This book will enhance the understanding of all who are interested in learning more about ocular blood flow in health and disease.

From the book reviews:
""Ocular Blood Flow' provides a deep, comprehensive coverage of the state of the art on this intriguing field of research. ... Written in a direct, concise language, this textbook combines, in a one-piece, easy-to-carry volume, the type of information that is usually found scattered in a number of separate books. ... In conclusion, if the reader ... wants to have an easy-to-read, detailed, and up-to-date insight into this interesting field of research, this is the book to get." (Luís Abegão Pinto, Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, Vol. 253, March, 2015)
"This is a thorough review of ocular blood flow, covering the anatomy, measurement methods, physiology, and clinical correlations with various aspects of ischemic processes in the eye. ... It appears to be intended primarily for basic science researchers in the field of ocular blood flow. ... This book provides basic scientists with a thorough review of the anatomy, physiology, and measurement tools to explore the field." (Christopher B. Chambers, Doody's Book Reviews, June, 2013)
