This book grew out of Carol-Ann Marshall's own experiences of emotional abuse. Since more people are aware of sexual and physical abuse, her mission from now on is to broaden the definition of abuse and expand the long overdue conversation about the devastating effects of emotional abuse, since it is subtle, often overlooked and has long term consequences. She is using her experiences to encourage women to examine their own relationships, talk about emotional abuse and bring it out into the open, so that they can find the support necessary to help them rebuild their lives.
