A.D.A.M. (Animated Dissection of Anatomy for Medicine) is a highly interactive multimedia software package of human anatomy. Integrating detailed graphics with intuitive operation, A.D.A.M. enhances the knowledge and communications capability of students and professionals worldwide. A.D.A.M. is made up of a core program - "A.D.A.M. Colour Image Foundation (Entire human body - male and female anatommy)" - with optional modular extensions: "A.D.A.M. Studio" and "A.D.A.M. Electronic Libraries" - orthopaedics, obstetrics & gynaecology, trauma. "Studio" is a powerful authoring tools that enables educators with basic computer skills to customize their course content. It provides complete access to A.D.A.M.'s database of full-colour images and allows the user to capture and modify these images - change size, paint, cut, copy, paste, erase, add text and labels, draw simple lines and shapes, and more. These images can then be linked to diverse image- and text-based files, both internal and external to ADAM, including scanned graphics and slides, laser disk images and videos, and animations from other sources.
Various elements can be displayed simultaneously on screen, to add depth and richness to elcture or lab presentations.
