Principles for Limiting Exposure of the Public to Natural Sources of Radiation

This report gives guidance on the principles to be applied to the control of exposure to natural sources of radiation. Man is exposed both externally and internally to natural sources of radiation, which may be grouped into three types according to origin: cosmic radiation, cosmogenic radionuclides and primordial radionuclides. The report provides current ICRP recommendations and considers existing and future exposure situations.
