This is a comprehensive reference text, striving to cover all that is clinically important in modern haematology, including practical information on day-to-day haematology in the modern laboratory. The text is divided into section by subject, including erythroid disorders, disorders of lymphoid and related cells, granulocyte disorders, and disorders of haemostasis and thrombosis. Chapters focusing on clinical aspects of a condition are followed immediately by corresponding laboratory chapters. With respect to internal chapter organization, chapters consistently are oriented towards introduction, etiology, pathophysiology, clinical diagnosis and management, followed by laboratory diagnosis and, where appropriate, monitoring of therapy from the laboratory standpoint.
