Multisystem Organ Failure

This text provides the experienced critical care nurse and other health care team members with the pathophysiologic background and understanding of multisystem organ failure necessary to develop an effective plan of care and anticipate events associated with this syndrome. It not only presents which clinical manifestions may be encountered, but also why they occur. The focus is on integration of clinical assessment into a pathophysiologic knowledge base so that decision making is based on a foundation of science and research rather than tradition.
