Neuroendocrinology

Following the pioneering work of Geoffrey Harris, studies on neuroendocrine systems have increased exponentially, especially since the synthesis of the hypothalamic hormone, TRH, in 1969. This book gives a broad overview of the area for senior medical students and postgraduates, clinicians and scientists with an interest in endocrinology. It provides the basic physiology necessary for an understanding of neuroendocrine systems, discusses the use of hypothalamic hormones as diagnostic tools and as therapeutic agents, and describes assays for hormone levels.
