This radiology digital product offers an interactive opportunity to learn about the basic concepts of radiology and interpretation of plain radiographs. This unique product incorporates the basic concepts of radiology, the characteristics and differences of varioustesting modalities and basic interpretation and diagnostic skills. This DVD and App product will incorporate cases-based radiographs that include written descriptions enhanced with arrows, and `tight’ radiographs to focus the learner on concepts to be learned. The DVD or electronic/digital version will bring the lessons “to life” using case examples (e.g. actual radiographs) as the basis for interpretation and identification of abnormalities and how to think clinically about them. Questions and answers appear with each Case Example. In addition, a `self-assessment’ quiz with answers and rationale will be provided to support development of sound clinical reasoning skills. This DVD and/or App product can be utilized along with the book that will publish on the same topic.
Teresa M. Campo, DNP, RN, NP-C, ENP-C has taught X-Ray Interpretation courses for many years as part of her company, Farfalla Education, LLC, which provides educational seminars and workshops for nurse practitioners and nurse practitioner students. Dr.Campo is Assistant Professor, Graduate Nursing Studies and Coordinator of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Felician College and Nurse Practitioner Coordinator, Quick Care Center of Emergency Department with Bayfront Emergency Physicians, Somers Point, NJ. She has over 27 years in the field of emergency medicine. Additional radiology interpretation courses include: Spinal X-Ray Interpretation; C-Spine Clearance; Chest XRay interpretation; and Managing Orthopedic Injuries in the Office and Urgent Care Setting She has authored peer-reviewed articles, chapters in two encyclopedias for nursing, and has co-authored Essential Procedures for Practitioners in Emergency, Urgent and Primary Care Settings Springer. Theresa has presented at local, state, national andinternational conferences on professional and clinical topics to thousands of APNs and has strengthened the education of NPs through multifaceted methods of procedural simulation, live session, and online education of NPs. She is a leader as vice-chair of the ANCC content expert panel for the emergency nurse practitioner board certification, serves on the Board of the American Academy of Emergency NPs (AAENP), and is the column editor for the Advanced Emergency Nursing Journal. She has received numerous awards and is the first Board Certified Emergency Nurse Practitioner in the State of New Jersey.
