The authors aim to set the subject of surgery of the eyelids and orbits in its various contexts: historical, anatomical, pathological and technical. They also endeavour to place orbitopalpebral surgery within the wider domain of plastic surgery itself. But it is essentially a practical book drawing on the experience of the authors in their various specialized fields. The first chapters cover history, anatomy, pathology, imaging, anesthesia and operative technique - including grafts and flaps. Following chapters are on specific operative entities, such as ectropion, entropion, ptosis, cosmetic surgery, facial palsy, blepharospasm, the lacrimal system, fractures, congenital malformations, haemangioma, tumours, the anophthalmic orbit, the Grave's disease, leprosy, and facial atrophy. Numerous illustrations cover specific operative cases and includes a bibliography.
