This is the first in a series which provides ultrasound images of all organ systems, accompanied by detailed descriptive text which is useful for both comparative diagnosis in the clinic as well as for teaching material.
This is the first in a series of atlases which provides high quality ultrasound images of all organ systems, accompanied by detailed descriptive text which is useful for both comparative diagnosis in the clinic as well as for teaching material. The book is designed in such a way that both the case presentation and the discussion appear on the same or on facing pages. Thus the cases can be used as a series of self-teaching exercises but when used for reference purposes the reader can readily review all the relevant images while following the discussion. The clinical problems are divided into five major groupings but are not ordered within each group, reflecting the mixed pattern of a typical clinical practice. The cases selected cover a wide range of anatomy and pathology, including some problem cases in obstetrics, but excluding cardiology. They are chosen to illustrate particular points of clinical or technical importance in diagnostic ultrasound scanning. In writing the discussions, the experience of all the authors has been pooled.
