Gary Mitchell is a dementia care advisor with Four Seasons Health Care (FSHC). FSHC has approximately 450 care homes throughout the UK which specialise in nursing care of the older person, people living with dementia, people living with mental health problems and people living with learning disability. Gary s role is regional as he provides support to dementia care units throughout the UK. Gary has a role in education, implementation and evaluation of best practices in dementia care. Gary has published 25 papers around nursing/dementia care; he is the editor-in-chief of the Online Journal Care Home Nursing (launching in 2016), an advisory member of the Nursing Standard journal and is educated to doctoral level. In relation to palliative care, Gary is leading the writing/development of FSHC s palliative and end-of-life care manual, development of palliative and end-of-life training packages and writing a commissioned CPD on the topic for Nursing Standard."
