How Pornography Harms paints a complete picture of who uses today’s pornography, to what effect, and how it compares to the use of previous generations. Citing the latest studies, interviews with prominent authors on the topic, and drawing from interviews with people whose lives have been affected, Dr. John Foubert exposes the devastating impact of porn. Dr. Foubert explores the effects of pornography on the brain, the spirit, the individual, men, women, teenagers, relationships, and its connection to sexual violence. The author ends with a chapter on how to recover from addictive pornography use, making it an important resource for counselors, parents, clergy, clinicians, and their clients.

John D. Foubert, PhD. is an interdisciplinary scholar who has studied sexual violence since 1993 and the harms of pornography since 2006. He is a Professor of Higher Education and Student Affairs at Oklahoma State University, and National President of One in Four. Dr. Foubert’s 40+ peer reviewed articles appear in some of the most respected journals in Psychology, Education, and Gender Studies. Dr. Foubert is quoted frequently by national media, has testified before Congress, and has been called upon by The White House and The Pentagon for his scholarly expertise. Dr. Foubert blogs for the Huffington Post. This is his 10th book.
