This is the revised and updated 2nd edition of a well- received small, practical handbook for all professionals concerned in caring for geriatric patients. It is intended not only for those already working in this field, irrespective of their discipline, but also for those coming into the field, to help them all to achieve a better understanding of the problems of the elderly sick. The original form of the book has been retained, with a series of case studies preceeding the text; these are used throughout the text to demonstrate specific points of care - a particular feature of this book. The authors' view is that the most effective approach to the elderly patient and his problems is that of the team and their book was, and is, intended as a guide for this team.
