Chest infections are a common and important area of respiratory medicine. They can be caused by a variety of infectious agents and are often highly contagious. This book offers an integrated treatment of the epidemiological, chemical, microbiological and pathological aspects of respiratory infections. The atlas starts with a discussion of diagnostic techniques, both non-invasive and invasive ones, such as bronchoscopy and fine needle aspiration. The different infections are then discussed and a chapter is included on the respiratory infections which are peculiar to particular areas of the world. Specific case reports are used throughout.
