Professor Tommaso Claudio Mineo is Professor of Thoracic Surgery at the Tor Vergata University of Rome. He became associated Professor in Thoracic Surgery at the La Sapienza University in 1983 and at University Tor Vergata of Rome in 1986. From 1st November 1994 to present he is full professor of Thoracic Surgery at the same institution. He is also Chairman of the Postgraduate Course in Thoracic Surgery and Director of the Doctorate program in Thoracic Oncology. In 1995 he established the Multidisciplinary Unit of Myasthenia Gravis at the Tor Vergata University Policlicnico in Rome. From 1999 to 2007 he was chairman of the Department of Surgery at University Tor Vergata Policlinico of Rome. From 2002 to present he is the Head and Chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at the Tor Vergata University Policlinico. He is author of more than 300 publications for italian and english journals. H-Index 26. Professor Mineo dealt with main topics of thoracic surgery, either from the clinical or experimental point of view, and more specifically of surgery of the thymus, of the myasthenia gravis, of the emphysema, of the oesophagus, of the lung cancer, of the tumours of the pleura. He is member of several Scientific International Societies. He was visiting Professor in many foreign institutions including Karolinska Institutet Stokholm, Hopital Laennec Paris, Hopital Cantonal Lausanne, Cancer center Tokyo, General Hospital Toronto, MD Anderson Houston, Mount Sinai New York.
