Vladimir Botchkarev, MD, PhD, is Deputy Director of the Centre for Skin Sciences at the University of Bradford (UK), and Adjunct Professor of Dermatology at Boston University (USA). He received MD degree from Chuvash State University (Cheboksary, Russia) and PhD in Cell Biology from People Friendship University (Moscow, Russia). He was trained in Humboldt University Berlin (Germany) in 1994-1999. He was appointed as a faculty member at Boston University in 1999, and as Professor of Cutaneous Biology at University of Bradford in 2007. Dr. Botchkarev’s laboratory have leading position in the research in signaling/transcription factor-mediated and epigenetic regulatory mechanisms that control stem cell activity, differentiation and reprogramming in the skin, as well as during skin regeneration and carcinogenesis. He has made seminal discoveries on the roles of BMP signaling pathway in the control of skin development and regeneration, as well as on the roles of transcription factors in regulation of stem cell epigenome. Dr. Botchkarev is Editorial Board member for Journal of Investigative Dermatology, Cell Death and Disease and Experimental Dermatology. During his career, he received several awards and prizes in recognition of his research including an NIH Independent Scientist Award, Vice-Chancellor Outstanding Achievement Award and The Dermatology Foundation Research Career Development Award.       Sarah E. Millar, PhD is Albert Kligman Professor and Vice-Chair for Basic Research in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. Millar is PI and Director of the Penn Skin Biology and Diseases Resource-based Center, and PI of the Penn Dermatology Research training grant. She received her BA from Cambridge University, and her PhD from the University of London. Dr. Millar trained as a post-doctoral fellow at the NIH and at Stanford University. She was first appointed as a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania in 1999, and holds secondary appointments in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology and in the School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Millar is internationally recognized as a leading researcher in epithelial biology. Her research group has made seminal discoveries on the roles of Wnt signaling and epigenetic regulatory mechanisms in development and regeneration of the skin and its appendages. She is a Deputy Editor of the Journal of Investigative Dermatology and serves as an Editorial Board member for Developmental Cell and Experimental Dermatology. Dr. Millar has received several awards in recognition of her work, including an NIH MERIT Award for her research on Wnt signaling in the skin, and the 2017 William Montagna Lectureship Award of the Society for Investigative Dermatology.
