He is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). He is active in many national professional societies, including the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association (ACPA), the Plastic Surgery Research Council (PSRC), the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgery (ASMS), and the New York Academy of Medicine.

    Pravin K. Patel, MD, FACS, is professor of surgery and director of craniofacial services in the Division of Plastic, Reconstructive & Cosmtic Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
