Recording nearly 300 air disasters worldwide this revised edition includes many high profile air crashes since 1996, including the Valujet DC-9, TWA Flight 800 and the Swissair MD-11. It gives the date, location, operator, aircraft type, and cause if known. Recounts are also given of the technological advances made as a result of particular disasters and additional information is provided on earlier catastrophes where final reports have been released since the previous edition.
