For each abdominal organ or structure, the text covers scanning techniques; normal anatomy and variants; pathology; and pitfalls, artifacts and practical tips. Different ultrasound manifestations of the same disease process are included where appropriate and the clinical significance of ultrasound findings is explained. A chapter on ultrasound-guided invasive procedures is also included.
