A clear, practical and useable guide designed to help students develop reflective skills in nursing.
Reflection enables us to make sense of, and learn from, experiences that can sometimes seem uncertain, chaotic or even mundane. The second edition of this popular book introduces student nurses to reflection in a clear and practical manner. It explains what reflection is, why it is so important to nursing practice and the different types of reflection that can be used to help make sense of practice. The new edition includes a new chapter on using digital media in reflection, new case studies from each field of practice and new activities.

Lioba Howatson-Jones is a Senior Lecturer in Nursing and Applied Clinical Studies at Canterbury Christ Church University, where she teaches on preregistration, postregistration and Masters level courses. She has taught at the University since 2003 and has a particular interest in reflective practice and person-centred care. Her research interests include nurses′ learning and inclusion of carers′ perspectives within patient assessment. Lioba has published on these and other clinical topics since 1999 and completed a PhD in Education in 2010.
