To repair the injured, malformed or degenerating human central nervous system, we have to understand the functioning of the healthy human CNS on cellular and integrative levels to learn what changed in the neural networks. Since there is some similarity between development and repair, also the development of the human CNS has to be studied. Especially the strategy of movement-based learning of the CNS to eliminate occurring errors during development is of interest because it can also be used during repair. In this book, movement patters which have the highest rate of re-learning movement are analysed as well as higher mental functions. The therapy using these efficient movement-based learning movements is called Coordination Dynamics Therapy (CDT).

Preface; Competitive interaction between two kinds of motoneurons for the innervations of two types of muscle fibres during development & repair in frog, discussed with respect to axon guidance & endogenous stem cell supported structural repair by motor learning in human cervical spinal cord injury; Development & repair of the human central nervous system; Neurophysiology & pathophysiology of the neural networks of the human caudal spinal cord & their communication with skin, urinary bladder & muscle spindle receptor afferents a scientific basis for the repair of the human central nervous system; Translational medicine; From the measured impaired phase & frequency coordination in & between the somatic & parasympathetic nervous system divisions in severe cervical spinal cord injury to the repair of the urinary bladder upon 3 years of movement-based learning; Movement-based learning in human for CNS repair compared with hippocampus learning in animals quantified at the cellular, molecular & epigenetic levels; Supplement: Movement-based learning in human for CNS repair compared with hippocampus learning in animals quantified at the cellular, molecular & epigenetic levels; Index.
