This interactive self-study guide is designed to help medical students, physician assistant students, and nurses, in acute and clinical care settings master the 12-Lead EKG, using a step-by-step approach. It promotes development of sound clinical and diagnostic reasoning skills. Employing a simple to complex approach, this highly interactive guide is organized into learning modules that relate to the settings in which significant EKG changes will occur, including clinic, ER, CCU, medical, surgical, and neurology units, among others. This unique ""clinical systems"" approach will be particularly helpful to students as they prepare for a particular clinical rotation.
Easy-to-navigate, this student-centered guide consists of an EKG rhythm strip on the screen for each of 50 cases with text callouts and audio, followed by questions requiring interpretation and analysis. Immediate feedback is then provided. The format facilitates the development of clinical reasoning skills through clinical problem solving for each type of rhythm and will enable nursing students to read the 12-Lead EKG with accuracy and confidence. The guide also provides self-assessment quizzes with answers and references for additional reinforcement.
