This video shows how to inspect the anterior and posterior thorax for respiratory movements and deformities, and how to palpate the anterior and posterior thorax for respiratory expansion, tracheal deviation, and tactile fremitus. Also included is how to percuss the posterior thorax for diaphragmatic excursion and areas of resonance; how to use a stethoscope to best hear normal and adventitious breath sounds such as crackles, wheezes and rhonchi; and what these sounds indicate about the patient's condition.
