Ayurveda is a powerful Indian system that works on the Doshas - the three energy types, and the way they affect our diet, lifestyle and general health. This book explores the history of Ayurveda, explains the three Doshas, and shows how to recreate balance.
An introductory guide to Ayurveda -- the powerful Indian system which harmonises the three Doshas -- the three energy types which balance our diet, lifestyle and general health. Ayurveda is an all encompassing system of Indian preventative medicine and healing. Ayurvedic medicine cultivates Ojas -- what we might term well-being, inner contentment, or plain good health. Ojas shows when we are radiant with health and relaxed happiness. Ayurveda is based on the ancient wisdom of the Vedas and is practiced today by doctors throughout India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. It is a thorough, comprehensive healthcare system and offers practical advice for all aspects of life from childhood through to old-age. Today, Ayurveda is increasingly recognised as an incredible body of simple, yet profound medical knowledge. Principles of Ayurveda discusses: * the three doshas -- Vata, Pitta and Kapha. * the uniqueness of the personal constitution * recreating balance -- working with a practitioner * recreating balance -- working on yourself * how to find a qualified and reputable practitioner
