The book gives particular emphasis to the specific relevant of the major issues of palliative care for nurses working in various practice settings, and also those teaching or undertaking research in palliative care. Professor Judith Parker is Head of School of Postgraduate Nursing, University of Melbourne, recently ex Foundation Professor of Nursing, La Trobe University. She is a highly respected academic, much published, and has a long-standing interest in Cancer Nursing and Palliative Care. She has carried out research in Palliative Care funded by Commonwealth Department of Health. Associate Professor Sanchia Aranda is at the Centre for Palliative Care, School of Postgraduate Nursing, University of Melbourne. Until this years she was Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing at La Trobe University, teaching in Cancer Nursing and Palliative Care. She was involved in developing this course as a major in the Graduate Diploma of Advanced Nursing. She has a long association with the Melbourne City Mission Hospice.
