This long-awaited revision of the widely used classic text, first published as "Midwifery" by the late Pauline McCall Sellers, is a comprehensive textbook that covers every conceivable aspect of midwifery. It is relevant for use in southern African and other developing regions, updated and in line with the International Council of Midwives and International Council of Nursing guidelines and standards, and is fully updated and revised to deal with HIV/Aids in pregnancy, childbirth and post-partum care. Pauline McCall Sellers was a midwifery educator at Edendale Hospital and Grey's Hospital in South Africa and a former Nursing Council examiner. Joan Dippenaar is a senior lecturer at the University of Limpopo-Medunsa and a former case manager and clinical auditor with more than 30 years of experience. Dicky Erasmus is a former senior lecturer at the University of Pretoria who has more than 30 years of practical experience in managerial and educational roles in both the public and private health care sectors.
