Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) are manipulative treatments in which a patient, on request, actively uses his or her muscles from a controlled position in a specific direction against a distinct counterforce. This 55-minute video can be used on its own or as an accompaniment to Chaitows book of the same name. Following an explanatory introduction to MET, Leon Chaitow then demonstrates its clinical use in the assessment and treatment of the following muscles: Rectus femoris and psoas, Tensor fascia lata; Piriformis, Quadratus lumborum; Pectoralis major, Latissimus dorsi; and, Upper trapezius Scalenes and sternocleidomastoid.
