Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is a novel non-invasive technique for diagnosis of pancreatic-biliary disease. The purpose of this book is to highlight the advantages, limitations and indications of MRCP. Specific examples have been selected to showcase the utility of this technique in a large variety of clinical conditions. Each example is purposefully used to stress important technical features, to give practical advice, or to discuss the role of MRCP in specific clinical situations. Important features of the book are the high quality of the illustrations, the reduction of the text to relevant and practically useful issues, and the simple and logic organisation of the case material. The book should show: the optimal technique in MRCP, the pitfalls and limitations.

Introduction: Basic Principles of MR Imaging; MRCP Technique: MR sequences, practical set-up of an MRCP study, use of contrast media and drugs, comparison with other techniques; Intrahepatic Bile Ducts: normal anatomy and variants, benign nontraumatic abnormalities, traumatic, postoperative and iatrogenic abnormalities, malignant tumors; Extrahepatic Bile Duct: normal anatomy and variants, benign nontraumatic abnormalities, traumatic, postoperative and iatrogenic abnormalities, malignant tumors; Gallbladder and Cystic Duct: normal anatomy and variants, benign nontraumatic abnormalities, traumatic, postoperative, and iatrogenic abnormalities, malignant tumors; Vaterian Sphincter Complex: normal anatomy and variants, benign nontraumatic abnormalities, traumatic, postoperative, and iatrogenic abnormalities, malignant tumors; Pancreatic Ducts: normal anatomy and variants, benign nontraumatic abnormalities, traumatic, postoperative, and iatrogenic abnormalities, malignant tumors and tumors with malignant potential.

"this book...provides first class information in its primarily stated objective of being an MRCP atlas. This book would be an excellent addition to any reporting room where a large amont of body MR work is carried out and will unquestionably find a permanent position on my shelf in close reach to the reporting station." RAD Magazine, Oct. 2006
