Procedural Sedation - DVD

This two-part series provides an in-depth, scenario-based discussion of the role of the nurse when working with both adults and children who will undergo procedural sedation. Demonstrations of pre-procedure assessments, providing patients with information about the procedure, administering drugs, and post-intervention monitoring are covered in this 45 minutes series. The continuum of sedation and complications associated with medications are also explained. Steps to keep the patient in the moderate state are explored including the use of tactile and verbal stimulation, as well as reversal agents.
