Nancy Sokolowski, RN, OCN, is a nationally recognized breast health specialist, with a 30-year career at Norwalk Hospital (a teaching affiliate of Yale University School of Medicine.) Nancy's role as the co-founder of the hospital's Smilow Family Breast Health Center and her pioneering role of """"breast cancer navigator"""" assisting newly diagnosed breast cancer patients through the myriad hospital services make her uniquely positioned to write the The Breast Cancer Companion. Nancy was the recipient of the 2008 North East Region of the All for Her Award from Genentech, the drugmaker of Herceptin, a breast cancer treatment for women and she was also awarded the American Cancer Society's Star of Hope award for excellence in providing compassionate and skilled care for people facing cancer and her unyielding contribution to the cancer fight ||Valerie Rossi is co-author of the critically acclaimed My Diabetes Workbook: The Essential Planner and Organizer for People with Type 2 Diabetes, which was awarded the favorably reviewed seal by the American Association of Diabetes Educators and was a 2006 Benjamin Franklin award finalist in the health category.
