Craniosynostosis and its related disorders are not common conditions but they occur with sufficient frequency to crop up as distinctly problem cases in many different specialist clinics. This book covers the various aspects of this complex subject.
Craniosynostosis and its related disorders are not common conditions but they occur with sufficient frequency to crop up as distinctly problem cases in many different specialist clinics. While the more specialist aspects of their care are now dealt with in craniofacial units, there is at present nowhere for the paediatrician involved in their secondary care (nor the general practitioner involved in their primary care) to go for help with the many practical problems that these children present. This book will for the first time change this dismal situation. It is not intended for the experienced craniofacial surgeon but for the paediatrician seeking practical information about the management of these children - and for the specialist in one of those associated disciplines (neurosurgery, ENT, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, maxillo-facial surgery, orthodontics, psychology, genetics, anaesthesia, audiology and speech therapy for example) who although not working in a craniofacial unit still has children with these problems attending their clinics.
For the first time, with this book, all these specialists will have available to them a clear, concise and practical text that covers all aspects of this complex subject.
