This book celebrates the remarkable stories of nurse educators from around the globe. The volume editors have gathered an extensive and compelling body of stories from more than 70 nurse educators, detailing their professional and personal experiences-their goals, challenges, and tremendous breakthroughs in the field. A major component of the book is to profile the international work of US educators. In doing so, the volume showcases the exciting diversity of the nursing profession itself. This collection of stories will quickly become an inspiration for nurse educators everywhere. Key topics include: Disaster nursing, including stories by nurses working during Hurricane Katrina, in Iraq, and other disaster-stricken areas; Global- and US-based education partnerships, with stories of nurses working to improve schools, hospitals, and communities around the world; Nurse philanthropy and the stories of nurses' personal philanthropic and fundraising initiatives.
