Jane N. Zuckerman, is an internationally known authority in the field of travel medicine. Her Research Interests include Vaccination, Travel Medicine, Occupational Health. As Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Reference, Research and Training in Travel Medicine, Dr. Zuckerman is actively involved in travel medicine related research. Current research activities involve collaborative research to determine the impact of basic aircraft cabin environment parameters upon fitness to travel; the evaluation of new vaccines, vaccines which circumvent non-response to hepatitis B vaccines; anti-viral agents and other forms of prophylaxis against infectious diseases. Elaine C. Jong, MD, Infectious Disease, Travel and Tropical Medicine, Past President, American Committee on Clinical Tropical Medicine and Traveler's Health, American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene; Director Emeritus, Travel Medicine Service, University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle. Prior to retirement, Dr. Jong was Past President, American Committee on Clinical Tropical Medicine and Traveler's Health, American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene; Director Emeritus, Travel Medicine Service, University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle. She has created and edited three widely consulted travel medicine books: The Travel and Tropical Medicine Manual (1st edition, 1987; 2nd edition, 1995, 3rd edition, 2000, in press), The Travel Medicine Advisor (1991), and The Medical Clinics of North America volume on Travel Medicine (1999), published dozens of articles and textbook chapters, and lectured at major medical centers and professional conferences all over the world.
