This video shows where to inspect for the point of maximum impulse; how to palpate the precordium using the proper anatomic landmarks; how to percuss heart borders to determine heart size; and how to properly use a stethoscope to auscultate for normal heart sounds (S(1) and S(2)) and extra or abnormal heart sounds (S(3) and S(4)), pericardial friction rubs, and murmurs. Also included are what these sounds may indicate.
