For introductory courses in engineering and technology programs. Also valuable for technical programs offered by community colleges and technical institutes, including those covering machine tool, automotive, electronics and electrical, maintenance and welding.

Technical Sketching with an Introduction to CAD, Fourth Edition enables students to learn drafting concepts using the sketching methodology and apply them using CAD. This unique two-pronged approach is ideal because it reinforces learning in lectures and laboratory activities on CAD. Organized intuitively, it begins with chapters on sketching techniques and lettering; covers multiview projection, pictorials, auxiliary views, and sectioning; and includes chapters on dimensioning, tolerancing, fastening techniques and working drawings. This edition offers a revised chapter on 2D CAD, a new chapter on 3D CAD, and a continued examination of the link between technical sketching and computer-aided drafting.
