This new volume discusses how integrating IoT devices and cyber-physical systems can help society by providing multiple efficient and affordable services to users. It covers the various applications of IoT-based cyber-physical systems, such as satellite imaging in relation to climate change, industrial control systems, e-healthcare applications, security uses, automotive and traffic monitoring and control, urban smart city planning, and more. The authors also outline the methods, tools, and algorithms for IoT-based cyber-physical systems and explore the integration of machine learning, blockchain, and Internet of Things-based cloud applications.
With the continuous emerging new technologies and trends in IoT technology and CPS, this volume will be a helpful resource for scientists, researchers, industry professionals, faculty and students, and others who wish to keep abreast of new developments and new challenges for sustainable development in Industry 4.0.
Amit Kumar Tyagi, PhD, is Senior Assistant Professor and Senior Researcher at the Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai Campus, India. He was formerly affiliated with the Lord Krishna College of Engineering, Ghaziabad, India, and was formerly an Assistant Professor and Head of Research at Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth (formerly known as Lingaya’s University), Faridabad, Haryana, India. His current research focuses on machine learning with big data, blockchain technology, data science, cyber-physical systems, smart and secure computing, and privacy. He has contributed to several projects such as AARIN and P3-Block to address some of the open issues related to the privacy breaches in vehicular applications (such as parking) and medical cyber-physical systems. Also, he has published more than eight patents related to deep learning, Internet of Things, cyber-physical systems, and computer vision. Dr. Tyagi received his PhD degree from Pondicherry Central University, India. Niladhuri Sreenath, PhD, is Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Puducherry Technological University, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, India. His primary research interests lie in WDM optical networks and privacy and trust. He has published several journal articles, conferences papers, and book chapters. He obtained his PhD in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India.
