The book presents selected papers from the International Conference on Data Science and Communication (ICTDsC 2023) organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and Department of Engineering Science and Humanities (DESH) Siliguri Institute of Technology, India during 23 - 24 March 2023 in Siliguri, India. The book covers state-of-the-art research insights on artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, data analytics, cyber security and forensic, network and mobile security, advanced computing, cloud computing, quantum computing, electronics system, Internet of Things, robotics and automations, blockchain and software technology, and digital technologies for future.



João Manuel R. S. Tavares graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the Universidade do Porto, Portugal in 1992. He also earned his M.Sc. degree and Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Universidade do Porto in 1995 and 2001, and attained his Habilitation in Mechanical Engineering in 2015 from the same University. He is a senior researcher at the Instituto de Ciência e Inovação em Engenharia Mecânica e Engenharia Industrial (INEGI) and Full Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering (DEMec) of the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP). He has been the Head of DEMec since June 2023.

João Tavares is co-editor of more than 80 books, co-author of more than 50 book chapters, 650 articles in international and national journals and conferences, and 3 international and 3 national patents. He has been a committee member of several international and national journals and conferences, is co-founder and co-editor of the book series 'Lecture Notes in Computational Vision and Biomechanics' published by Springer, founder and Editor-in-Chief of the journal 'Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering: Imaging & Visualization' published by Taylor & Francis, Editor-in-Chief of the journal 'Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering' published by Taylor & Francis, and co-founder and co-chair of the international conference series: International Symposium on Computational Modeling of Objects Presented in Images, ECCOMAS Thematic Conference on Computational Vision and Medical Image Processing, International Conference on Computational and Experimental Biomedical Sciences and International Conference on Biodental Engineering. Additionally, he has been (co-)supervisor of several MSc and PhD thesis and supervisor of several post-doc projects, and has participated in many scientific projects both as researcher and as scientific coordinator. His main research areas include computational vision, medical imaging, biomechanics, scientific visualization, human-computer interaction and new product development.

Joel J. P. C. Rodrigues [Fellow, IEEE & AAIA] is with the College of Computer Science and Technology, China University of Petroleum, Qingdao, China; Senac Faculty of Ceará, Brazil; and senior researcher at the Instituto de Telecomunicações, Portugal. Prof. Rodrigues is a Highly Cited Researcher (Clarivate), N. 1 of the top scientists in computer science in Brazil, the leader of the Next Generation Networks and Applications (NetGNA) research group (CNPq), Member Representative of the IEEE Communications Society on the IEEE Biometrics Council, and the President of the scientific council at ParkUrbis - Covilhã Science and Technology Park. He was Director for Conference Development - IEEE ComSoc Board of Governors, an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer, Technical Activities Committee Chair of the IEEE ComSoc Latin America Region Board, a Past-Chair of the IEEE ComSoc Technical Committee (TC) on eHealth and the TC on Communications Software, a Steering Committee member of the IEEE Life Sciences Technical Community and Publications co-Chair. He is the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of E-Health and Medical Communications and editorial board member of several high-reputed journals. He has been general chair and TPC Chair of many international conferences, including IEEE ICC, IEEE GLOBECOM, IEEE HEALTHCOM, and IEEE LatinCom. He has authored or coauthored about 1000 papers in refereed international journals and conferences, 3 books, 2 patents, and 1 ITU-T Recommendation. He had been awarded several Outstanding Leadership and Outstanding Service Awards by IEEE Communications Society and several best papers awards. Prof. Rodrigues is a member of the Internet Society, a senior member ACM, and Fellow of AAIA and IEEE.

Debajyoti Misra is currently working as Head of the Department (HOD)  and  assistant professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Siliguri Institute of Technology, Siliguri, India. He also served as HOD of CSE (AI & ML) from the period of 2022 to June 2023. He did his B.Tech from Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College and M.Tech from West Bengal University of Technology (Now MAKAUT) and completed his Ph.D. from Assam University Silchar, Assam, India. His research interests include infrastructural development using Internet of Things (IoT), Digital signal processing and Communication Engineering. He published many research articles in various international journals and conferences from publication houses including Springer, IEEE, IGI Global etc.  He is a member of IEEE Internet of Things Community.  

Debasmriti Bhattacherjee is presently working as an Assistant Professor and HOD in the Department of Engineering Sciences and Humanities in Siliguri Institute of Technology. She did her B.Sc (Mathematics) in 2006 , M.Sc (Mathematics) in 2008 and Ph.D (Dynamical System) in 2018 from Gauhati University. Her research interests are Graph Theory, Dynamical System, Information Retrieval, computational intelligence and Image Processing. She has served as reviewer and Technical Program Committee Member of several international conferences like IEMIS 2020, ISCMM 2021, IEMIS 2018.
