This book covers various topics and trends regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and their applications in society, industry, and environment for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) suggested by the United Nations. Additionally, it discusses their advancements and fusion as well as the realization of Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). The book aims to provide an overview and recent research into the fusion, integration, advancements, and impact of these technologies in the context of SDGs achievement. The topics include the applications of AI, IoT, big data, AI-based and IoT-based cloud computing, machine learning and deep learning techniques, and blockchain among others for achieving SDGs. Dr. Sanjay Misra, a Sr. member of IEEE and ACM Distinguished Lecturer, is a Senior Scientist at the Institute of Energy Technology(IFE), Halden, Norway. Before joining IFE, he was associated with the Computer Science and Communication department of Østfold University College, Halden, Norway. He holds a PhD. in Information & Knowledge Engg (Software Engg) from the University of Alcala, Spain & M.Tech.(Software Engg) from MLN National Institute of Tech, India. His expertise is in the area of Applied Informatics (Cyber Security, Health Informatics, Software Engineering Applications, and Intelligent systems using AI and computational techniques), and he has published (- around 150 JCR/SCIE) in top journals like Computers and Security, Information Processing and Management, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, Expert Systems, and Applications, etc. He has been amongst the top 2% of scientists in the world (published by Stanford University) for the last three consecutive years, ranked no 2 in the whole of Africa in computer science (as per Elsevier: Scival analysis during 2017-2022) and also got several awards for outstanding publications (2014 IET Software Premium Award (UK)), TUBITAK-Turkish Higher Education, and Atilim University). He is Editor in Chief of Int J of Human Capital & Inf Technology Professionals(IGI), IT Personnel and Project Management(IGI), and editor in various SCIE journals(Nature: Scientific Report((Impact Factor: 4.996), Elsevier: Alex. Engineering((Impact Factor: 6.626, Q1 7/92)), edited several special issues and 80 books from Springer(65 LNCSs, 4 LNEEs, 3 LNNSs, 3 CCISs) , 10 IEEE proceedings and several books. He delivered more than 100 keynotes and invited talks and public lectures at reputed conferences and institutes (he traveled to more than 60 countries).

Kerstin Siakas is an Emerita Professor at the Department of Information and Electronic Engineering at International Hellenic University, Greece and a Visiting Professor at the School of Technology, and Innovations/Production at University of Vaasa, Finland. She received her BSc and MSc degrees in economics in 1975 and 1977 respectively from Swedish Handelshögskolan vid Åbo Academy, Finland and her PhD in 2002 in Software Quality Management from the Department of Computing, Communication Technology & Mathematics, London Metropolitan University, UK. She has extensive industrial experience in different levels of software development, mainly in global organizations. Her specialty as a professor includes Information Systems Quality, Innovation and Social Networks. She has participated in numerous EU research and lifelong learning projects. She has published over 200 articles in scientific conferences and journals and she is an active member of the European Certification Qualification Association.

Georgios Lampropoulos received his BSc degree with the title of Information Technology Engineer specialized as a Software Engineer from the Department of Information Technology at Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki (currently named International Hellenic University) in 2017 and he received his MSc degree in Web Intelligence from the same department in 2019. Currently, he is a Visiting Lecturer and PhD candidate in the Department of Information and Electronic Engineering at International Hellenic University and a MEd student in Education Sciences at Hellenic Open University. He has published over 40 articles in peer reviewed journals and conferences, he has taken part in international research programs, he has won awards in international competitions, and he has also served as a reviewer and a member of the organizing and scientific committees of international conferences and journals.
