This book describes in detail a method of direct optimization, which makes it possible to choose the best trajectory of an aircraft in conditions of its limited resource. This can happen in the event of an emergency on board, associated with both a possible equipment failure and external influences, for example, when lightning strikes an aircraft or collides with a moving object. The highlight of this book is the fact that the results presented in it can be applied universally to the choice of the flight path of large and small aircraft, as well as helicopter technology. In addition, they take into account various conditions of aircraft flight, including a possible accident. The methods and algorithms presented here can be used as the basis for the creation of automatic collision avoidance systems, as well as the choice of the best aircraft trajectory for flights in different regions and in different conditions.

Alexander Nikolaevich Akimov is Doctor of technical sciences, Professor and Professor of the Department of Flight Safety and Life of Moscow State technical university of civil aviation and chief specialist of PJSC Sukhoi Company. He graduated from Air Force Academy named after N.E. Zhukovsky in 1981. He defended his doctoral dissertation in 1997. He is Member of Dissertation Councils. His research interests are in the areas of military cybernetics, systems analysis, operations research, systems modeling, weapons and military equipment, and military complexes and systems. Vadim Vadimovich Vorobyev is Doctor of technical sciences, Professor and Head of the Department of Flight Safety and Life of Moscow state technical university of civil aviation. He is the author of over 130 scientific works, including 3 monographs, 2 textbooks. He is/was a scientific supervisor in the implementation of more than 30 scientific research works on issues ensuring the safety of aircraft flights in normal and special flight situations. Dmitry Alexandrovich Zatuchny is Doctor of technical sciences, Associate Professor and Professor in the Department of Computation Machines, Complexes, Systems and Networks at Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation. He is the author of more than 140 scientific works, including 5 monographs, 6 textbooks, 1 patent on an invention and 6 state registered computer programs. He was responsible for a number of research projects on ensuring the functioning of modern navigation systems in civil aviation aircraft and air traffic control.
